The fast-casual Mediterranean spot that considers itself a healthy alternative has arrived in Kendall.

Cava is now open at the Palms at Town & Country, bringing with it the bowls, pitas and dips that have made it popular.

You’ll find choices like the build-your-own bowl with salad or grains or both. There’s also a new salmon and yogurt dill bowl, glazed fish over arugula and saffron rice, hummus, corn, tomato and onion and cucumber and the brand’s trademarked Crazy Feta, which is feta whipped with jalapeño, onions, and olive oil.

Other bowls include falafel crunch, spicy lamb and avocado, chicken and rice and steak and harissa.

The concept began in 2010, the creation of Ike Grigoropoulos, chef Dimitri Moshovitis and Ted Xenohristos, who grew up in the Greek community. Since then, the restaurant has grown to include more than 400 restaurants around the U.S., including locations in Aventura and Brickell.

Regional director Scott Sheffield said the brand “couldn’t be more thrilled to be in Kendall.”

“Our mission is to bring heart, health, and humanity to food, and everything we do at Cava is grounded in that spirit of generosity, to our guests, our team members, and our community,” he said in a statement.

Every Cava restaurant accepts donations to support a local cause and matches them with donations of up to $1,000. Since 2019, this Community Day program has raised more than $600,000 in donations to improve food security in local communities. In Kendall, Cava is raising money for the Center for Family and Child Enrichment.
