Daniel’s Miami, the Coral Gables steakhouse that has been open for less than a year, has been named one of the best steak restaurants in the world.

The World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants, an independent ranking curated by Upper Cut Media House in London, has now added the elegant restaurant to its World Best list at no. 40, praising its “confident new direction for Florida’s dining landscape.” It’s the only Florida restaurant to make the list.

What sets Daniel’s apart, according to the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants, is the insistence of founder Thomas Angelo and executive chef Daniel Ganem of using premium ingredients to offer a wide range of flavors as well as ground the restaurant in its Florida roots instead of relying on conventional steakhouse tradition.

“Rather than relying on grandeur alone, Daniel’s places its emphasis on craft, provenance and balance,” the list says, praising the restaurant’s combination of dry-aged American beef and Australian wagyu. “The menu is built around premium ingredients selected with clear purpose, with a strong connection to the richness of Florida’s own produce.”

“Locally raised beef, sustainable seafood, regional vegetables and carefully chosen accompaniments all contribute to a restaurant identity that feels grounded in place rather than detached from it. This sense of origin gives the experience both freshness and credibility, allowing the restaurant to speak in a distinctly Floridian voice.”

“This independent streak is something we strongly welcome,” it concludes.

Thomas Angelo, founder of Gioia Hospitality, said he was “incredibly humbled” by making the list.

“Being part of such a prestigious list after being open for just seven months is a true testimony to our entire team and their dedication to excellence on a daily basis,” he said.

This is far from the first notable honor for Daniel’s, which opened in July 2025 and also has a location in Fort Lauderdale. Last November, the restaurant was named no. 9 in North America on The World’s Best Steak Restaurants list (along with Sunny’s Steakhouse in Miami, which was listed at no. 23).

Daniel’s is also the only restaurant in the United States that has hosted the prestigious international Rare Tour, once with Rockwell Steakhouse from Australia and more recently with Spain’s Laia Erretegia. Daniel’s is also the only restaurant in North America to earn The Beef Advocate’s Global Meat Standard Certification at Base Certificate level, which recognizes steak restaurants that combine exceptional quality with verified sourcing, responsible cattle farming and transparent supply chains.
