This Miami Beach seafood restaurant with Key West vibes is closing for good
Stiltsville, the Miami Beach restaurant known for its seafood and Key West-style cocktails, is closing for good.
In a statement, Francesco Balli and Ignacio Garcia-Menocal of Grove Bay Hospitality, which operates Stiltsville as well as Regatta Grove, Bayshore Club and Stubborn Seed, wrote that they couldn’t come to an agreement with the landlord and decided not to renew the lease at the restaurant on Purdy Avenue in the Sunset Harbour neighborhood.
They went on to thank the restaurant’s team and guests.
“Stiltsville Fish Bar has been an incredibly special chapter for Grove Bay Hospitality Group. Opening this restaurant in collaboration with Chefs Janine Booth and Jeff McInnis was a true honor, and we are proud to have helped bring their vision — and love story — to life through a concept that celebrated Florida flavors, hospitality, and community.
“We are deeply grateful to our dedicated team, loyal guests, and the Sunset Harbour community for their support over the years. “While this chapter comes to a close, we remain optimistic and excited for the future. We look forward to sharing upcoming projects and new developments from Grove Bay Hospitality Group soon. Thank you for your patronage, your memories, and your continued support.”
Stiltsville, which opened in 2017, was led by chefs Booth and McInnis, who met when McInnis was executive chef at Gigi in Midtown Miami and managed to lure the Australian-born Booth to the restaurant with his meatloaf special.
The couple, who were both features on Bravo’s “Top Chef,” ended up at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar when McInnis opened it in Miami Beach in 2011, then went on to open Root & Bone in New York. They came back to Miami in 2016 for The Sarsaparilla Club at the Shelborne Hotel, then went on to open Stiltsville.
