An inspector found rodent poop and other problems at a Miami taco place
A state inspector dropped by a Miami taco chain after rodents dropped 50 poop pellets in the restaurant, which was promptly shut down.
That wasn’t the only violation the inspector found at La Santa Taqueria, 2699 Biscayne Blvd., although it was one of the two High Priority ones among the seven total.
La Santa passed Wednesday’s callback inspection after the rodents either moved to new housing, gone on vacation or were more subtle about their personal waste disposal.

On Tuesday, the inspector “observed a hole in the wall behind the mop sink.”
And near that hole, the inspector counted “10 rodent droppings on top of a wooden panel behind the wall at the mop sink area in the kitchen.”
Elsewhere, there were “approximately 40 rodent droppings on the floor of the dry food storage room next to the kitchen area.”
Standing water covered the floor draining under the kitchen area three-compartment sink, as well as the floor drain by a kitchen handwash sink.
An “employee with no hair restraint” grilled beef in the kitchen.
