Is this Redland farm serving one of the best dining experiences of the season?

Another true sign of fall is here: dinners at Ford’s Farm in the Redland.

Chef Jeremy Ford, the force behind Miami Beach’s Michelin-starred Stubborn Seed, begins a collaborative series at his five-and-a half-acre organic farm on Saturday, with chef Michael Solomonov of Aviv restaurant in Miami Beach. A few tickets are still available, too.

Ford, who also opened Salt & Ash with his team at Hawk’s Cay Resort in the Florida Keys and Terra by Jeremy Ford in Aruba this year, started the farm dinners last November with the idea of highlighting sustainability.

With growing pains behind him, this season Ford has created a more robust schedule for the dinners, stressing collaboration and bringing in locally and nationally known chefs to share perspectives and imaginative dishes.

“This series brings together some of the most talented chefs I know, each with their own story, perspective and love for the craft,” he said. “Ford’s Farm is all about connecting chefs, farmers and guests in a way that celebrates what food can be when it’s rooted in community and creativity.”

Along with his partner Joe Mizzoni, Ford still spends time at the farm, preparing for the upcoming bounty. Last fall he told the Miami Herald that the physical labor was grueling and the learning curve for organic farming was steep.

“It’s the hardest work of my life,” he said. “But it’s very rewarding.”
