One of Palm Beach County’s favorite ice cream shops is opening in Miami-Dade.

Lily’s Ice Cream from Delray Beach is opening its second location at the Biscayne Commons Shopping Center in North Miami.

The brand is the brainchild of the Gilinsky family: father Ronen, who handles the financial side of the business; son Ori, a self-taught ice cream maker with no formal culinary background but an active imagination and creative ability, comes up with the flavors. Brother Tal works in the business’ day to day operations.

Ori Gilinsky, who learned a lot about ice cream making from YouTube, said the family was excited to expand Lily’s.

“Lily’s was born out of a deep love for ice cream and a desire to create something truly original, fun and delicious,” he said. “We’re not here to replicate what’s already out there. We want people to try something they’ve never had before.”

To that end, Lily’s offers 12 signature flavors and four flavors that rotate monthly. Some of the favorites include Dusty Monkey, brown-sugar infused banana ice cream with biscoff cookies; South Florida Swamp, which involves chocolate ice cream with Oreo cookies and chocolate chips; and Fairy Floss, which is cotton candy ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and frosted animal crackers.

There’s also Wolverine Delight, cake batter ice cream with brownies, sprinkles and cookie dough.

The shop also has more basic flavors, such as pure vanilla, double espresso, strawberry dream and Belgium chocolate. The shop is fully kosher and also offers dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan options.
