In fact, chefs and restaurateurs from around Miami-Dade County all agree on one thing — the summer of 2025 is the toughest in recent memory. As we reported, there are plenty of reasons why this summer stands out as a make-or-break one for local restaurants.

But it’s not just because tourists are staying away. Locals, they say, seem to be dining out less often than they usually do.
