A national fried chicken tender brand has opened its first Miami-Dade restaurant.

Huey Magoo’s, which already has spots across Broward County and in Boca Raton, is now open in Palmetto Bay near Kendall.

This is the 76th restaurant for the company, which specializes in fried chicken fingers marinated for 24 hours and grilled, or tossed in buffalo, sweet heat, lemon pepper or garlic parmesan sauces.

The 2,590-square-foot restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating as well as takeout, catering, and online ordering through the Huey Magoo’s mobile app, website, and third-party delivery services like DoorDash and Uber Eats.

Opening in Palmetto Bay is something of a homecoming for Huey Magoo’s president and CEO, who was born and raised in Miami.

“Opening our first restaurant in Miami-Dade County is a huge moment for the brand and especially meaningful to me,” he said in a statement, adding that it “feels like coming home.”

As for the brand itself: ”It’s all about great food, great people, and growing with purpose,” he said.

The Palmetto Bay location is one of nine new Huey Magoo’s planned across South Florida. There are already locations in Cooper City, Miramar, Oakland Park, Sunrise, Coral Springs and North Lauderdale, as well as other parts of the state like Orlando and Gainesville.
