Pooping rodents and running roaches got a Fort Lauderdale place closed by inspection

The sandwich joint on the first floor of a Fort Lauderdale commercial high-rise had too much four-and-six-legged foot traffic for a state inspector on Wednesday.

Before that, That’s A Wrap Sandwich Co. obviously housed too many rodents, roaches or general filth for whoever filed the complaint with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The agency’s inspector found five total violations, including two High Priority violations before saying that’s a wrap on That’s a Wrap and closing the place for the day.

Here’s some of what the inspector found:

About nine pieces of rodent dung in the lobby behind the drink station counter.

Two live roaches and six dead ones under a kitchen hot holding unit. Another two roach bodies under a reach-in cooler.

Two dead roaches in a sticky trap under the front counter. That counted as an “accumulation of dead or trapped birds, insects, rodents, or other pests” in a pest control device.

A “mold-like substance” on the reach-in cooler door gaskets.
