Eataly Italian marketplace announces plans for a second South Florida location
Eataly, the Italian marketplace that was born in 2007 inside a former vermouth factory in Torino, Italy, has announced plans to open a second South Florida location.
After opening at the Aventura Mall in 2025, the brand plans to open at CityPlace in downtown West Palm Beach in the historic Harriet Himmel building.
Tommaso Brusò, CEO of Eataly North America, said that CityPlace is a good fit for the brand.
“We’re incredibly excited to enter the South Florida market and look forward to bringing the Italian art of living to the West Palm Beach community” he said in a statement. “As a true lifestyle destination with an impressive mix of retail, art, design, and cuisine, CityPlace couldn’t have been a better match for our incoming flagship store.”
The West Palm Beach Eataly will follow the design of its predecessors, incorporating seated restaurants, quick service counters and a specialty market with imported Italian goods.
There are more than 50 Eataly locations across the world, including New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Dallas and Silicon Valley. At the moment, the brand is focusing on expanding across North America, including new spots in Toronto and New Jersey. Earlier this year, Brusò told the Miami Herald the plan was to double the business in the next couple of years.
Brusò also called Eataly “an ambassador for the Italian lifestyle.”
“It’s basically a place where you can treat yourself,” he told the Miami Herald. “The ambition for us is to replicate what Italy is today. So when you come to visit Eataly, you’re supposed to have the same experience that you have when you go to Italy physically, without the flying or packing your luggage.”
The Aventura Eataly is expected to open in the spring of 2025 above the mall’s Louis Vuitton store in the Nordstrom wing. The opening of the West Palm Beach location is scheduled for sometime in the fall of 2025.
