Miami’s newest steak bar isn’t only about meat. It also owes a heavy debt to the influences of Asian cuisine.

Salty Flame from V&E Hospitality — the group behind Paperfish Sushi and Barsecco, among other properties — recently opened on Brickell Avenue, specializing in premium cuts of meat paired with Asian side dishes.

The restaurant, located on the same block as Paperfish Sushi and Barsecco, will serve lunch and dinner. It features 8,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, with a main dining room that seats 150 diners and a wrap-around outdoor terrace.

There are also two private dining areas: the Sapphire lounge for 40 and the more intimate Reflection Room, which seats 12.

The kitchen is led by executive chefs Michael Asalie and Alex Martinez. The menu for the restaurant, which serves lunch and dinner, highlights steaks intended to be shared by the table, along with a variety of Asian side dishes. Picture a dry-aged filet, ribeye or A5 wagyu served with stir-fried milk bok choy or kimchi truffle fries, and you’ll get the idea.

The Asian influence continues in other entrees, too. There are sushi rolls, sashimi, rice and noodles and shareable dishes like Korean fried chicken glazed with gochujang and topped with scallions, sesame seeds and kimchi aioli or a steamed striped bass served in shaoxing broth, topped with scallions, ginger, cilantro and fresno chili.

The atmosphere is deliberately high-energy-forward, which means craft cocktails are also on the menu, and yes, that is a DJ booth you spotted on your way in.

Jamil Dib, co-founder and owner of V&E Hospitality, said in a statement the group is excited to open the concept in Miami.

“Salty Flame transcends the ordinary steak bar, offering a fun dining experience infused with an enticing Asian twist, creating an exceptional ambience that truly sets it apart,” he said.
