More than 200 rodent droppings dotted this Miami restaurant during an inspection
An inspection that found 33 violations at a West-Miami-Dade restaurant included the discovery of more than 200 pieces of rodent dung.
Perhaps the rodents migrated from the construction project just over a block north from Monina Restaurant & Lounge, 1325 SW 70th Ave. Inspectors saw a violation that gave VIP access through the restaurant and the kitchen.

But first, let’s check out some of the other violations the inspector found on Wednesday:
Three flies landing on a prep table in the back kitchen, two landing on clean plates and four zipping through the kitchen near the cookline.
For those who like ice in their drinks, there was an “accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine.”
The insides of the reach-in freezer had an accumulation of “soil residues.”
There was no way to dry hands at the back kitchen handwash sink. And there was no handwash sink, period, at the sandwich station, where the inspector saw an “employee preparing toast for a customer during the inspection.”
In front of the table with the sandwich presser, the inspector saw one of three holes in the wall. Other holes were behind the chest freezer near the back kitchen’s exit door and underneath the service window.
