There’s a new cafe in Brickell that’s inside an airplane. See what it’s like on board
There’s a new coffee shop in town, and it’s got wings.
Literally.
At Sky Coffee Buenos Aires, the quarters may be a bit cramped, but the seats are comfy — and recline.
That’s because the unusual cafe is housed inside of an old airplane, a retired McDonnell Douglas MD-88, Local 10 reports. Owner Rosana Bentos, from Argentina, told the local media outlet that she sold her house to buy the aircraft which was put out of commission by Delta in 2019.
Jetsetters, influencers and anyone tired of ordering the same old venti latte at Starbucks every morning will love this place. Grab your cappuccino, topped with a plane shape etched adorably in foam, and stretch your legs in an aisle or window. Or take your beverage up to the cockpit for a selfie to remember.
And unlike a real flight, you won’t have to contend with crying babies, barefoot passengers or air sickness. You’ll feel and look really cool and your followers will have the worst case of FOMO ever.
Not just coffee is served here. The menu also includes solids such as sweet treats and savory pastries as well as soups, salads and sandwiches. You’ll see specials posted on a board that resembles the one that lists arrivals and departures at MIA.
Gimmicky? Of course, that’s the point. You can even stamp a passport during each visit to rack up points and rewards. And we have a feeling this genius of an idea will have many frequent fliers.
“Come join us and elevate your coffee experience,” says an invite on its Instagram page. “Sky Coffee has landed.”
