After 10 years of tacos, this Mexican restaurant in Miami Beach is closing
Another local favorite is shutting down in Miami Beach.
After 10 years, the Mexican restaurant Huahua’s Taqueria on Lincoln Road is closed for good.
And it’s too late to grab one last taco: The last day of service was Nov. 12.
The restaurant announced the closing via its Instagram account, thanking customers for “being a part of our story, and for making the last decade plus truly special.”
“It is with mixed emotions that we announce the conclusion of Huahua’s Taqueria tenure on Lincoln Rd.,” the Instagram post read. “Over the past ten plus years, we’ve had a truly amazing experience serving the Miami Beach community, cherishing unforgettable moments and receiving unwavering support from our amazing patrons.
“We are immensely proud of what we have accomplished and the connections we’ve forged. However, as time passes and circumstances change, we must now say goodbye to this chapter of our journey.”
Best known for its tacos and laid-back atmosphere, Huahua’s was opened in 2013 by Michael Boles and Niloy Thakkar and named for Boles’ pet Chihuahua. Fittingly, its outdoor patio was dog-friendly for locals who wanted to stop in for a quick meal and a beer.
