Craft cocktails on Bird Road? Here’s how to find this new bar in west Miami-Dade

The new Ludlam Trail may not be the first place you think of when you think of elegant, chilled craft cocktails, but Thorn is aiming to change that perception.

The 4,200-square foot cocktail bar concept, tucked away inside in the 338-unit MiLine Apartments in western Miami-Dade County, is now open for drinks and dinner. And no, you don’t have to be a resident to check it out.

Operated by Fire Pit Hospitality, the group behind Lincoln’s Beard Brewing Co., Thorn is trying to lure young professionals and other locals looking for a place to get together after work.

“Good drinks, comfort food and good company — this is exactly what Thorn offers,” said John Falco of Fire Pit. “We are thrilled to become an integral part of the community.”

Thorn will also offer a small menu that includes steak frites, wagyu meatballs, burgers, wings, fries and other bar-type bites. There are also salads and oysters on the menu.

MiLine Apartments will be adding two other concepts eventually: Greek Street, a Mediterranean spot, and El Callejero, which will serve Latin cuisine. Both will serve food out of container-themed kitchens.
