This casual breakfast and lunch restaurant in Miami’s Design District has quietly closed
OTL, the casual spot for breakfast, lunch and coffee in Miami’s Design District, is closed for good.
The restaurant, which was opened in 2017 by nightlife king David Grutman, developer Craig Robins and Smile NYC, had a paper note stuck on its door telling customers that the business would be closing April 23. Grutman has not been a part of the restaurant for the past several years.
OTL — short for “out to lunch” — served breakfasts like overnight oats and avocado toast and sandwiches and salads for lunch.
General manager Stephen Jay Cochran thanked customers for their support in the note.
“Over the past 8 years, OTL has enjoyed serving over 1 million customers and has come highly recommended as the place to be in the Design District and that is all thanks to each of you,” he wrote.
“I would like to thank all of our customers and employees of our company that we have done business with over the years. OTL could not have been as successful as it was without your support and loyalty. Thank you for being with us on our journey in all its ups and downs.”
The space, a few doors down from the new Tablé by Bachour, will be replaced by Tiffany & Co., according to signs in the window. Tiffany & Co. is expected to open sometime in the winter of 2023.
OTL was also known for its colorful Fendi Caffé pop-up, which last appeared in the spring of 2022.
