Luxury just got more intimate with this new, glamorous omakase speakeasy in Miami Beach
One of Miami Beach’s most exclusive restaurants — which prides itself on providing what it calls “the ultimate dining experience” — is opening a speakeasy-style omakase experience.
Located in the historic Paris Theater on Washington Avenue, Queen Miami Beach has opened a luxury chef’s choice sushi experience.
When they arrive at the restaurant, which opened in February, diners will be escorted by a host through the main dining room to the second floor. Visitors should take a good look around on their way to the intimate, eight-seat counter. Designed by Carlos Rodriguez of Miami’s ModPlay Studio, the main dining area includes elegant details from the 1940s — the Paris Theater was built in 1945 by Art Deco architect Henry Hohauser — and includes golden doors, stunning chandeliers, an LED-paneled dome ceiling and an eye-catching Mondrian wall.
Queen Omakase boasts its own intimate elegance. Hidden behind red curtains, the room features a glass-blown Murano chandelier and custom Bamboo Forest wallpaper, plus a black onyx Calcatta bar.
Chef Max Kamakura said in a statement that immersing himself in various customs and traditions is what informs his menu, which will change every three weeks.
“Omakase to me is about conveying generations of stories through each meticulously crafted bite,” he said. “Each dish represents a narrative that has been crafted over the course of many years, and guests will get to experience this through Queen Omakase.”
