305 Pie: We’re looking for the best pizza in Miami. Here’s your winner

Miami, you’ve made your favorite pizza clear.

Weeks ago, we asked you to send us your favorite pizza places. Then we took the 16 pizza shops with the most submissions and put them head to head in our weekly poll. The poll is just for fun, totally unscientific and you could vote as many times as you like.

Every week, we cut the field in half until we come down to the final two — and eventually, the best pizza spot as voted on by you, people of the internet.

We got down to the Top 2: Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza and Vice City Pizza. And by a sliver, the winner was Vice City Pizza, with 51 percent of the vote.

Vice City Pizza is a pandemic baby, a restaurant that started as a pop-up and became permanent.

Carlos Estarita, raised in west Kendall, became a fine-dining chef, working at top restaurants like Michy’s, Scarpetta, Zuma and Coya. But during the pandemic, he partnered with Jorgie Ramos, owner of Abi Maria in Downtown Dadeland, who gave him a spot at his restaurant to make his two-day fermented focaccia-style square pizza — light, fluffy slices with fun toppings that reflected Miami’s palate.

He uses quality ingredients like Ezzo pepperoni and hot honey. Standouts include the mushroom pie with a base of shallots, garlic and truffles, and fun one-off specials like El Cubiche, topped with caja china roasted pork, confit garlic, onions and mojo aioli.

Vice City is looking to open a second location in the Plaza Alegre shopping center on Southwest 26th Street and 147th Avenue. For now, it’s available daily at Abi Maria, dine-in only on the weekends.

Congratulations to the winners!
