Food podcast: A trip to Shoma Bazaar, Miami Lakes fave closes, new Israeli spot

More food news to catch up on this week’s episode of La Ventanita, the Miami Herald food podcast.

The Beverly Hills Cafe closed, ending a 43 year run for this Miami Lakes favorite. We took a drive to Doral to check out Shoma Bazaar, one of the newest food halls to open in the Miami area. We’ll give our hot takes and tell you what we liked. Also, we will discuss if it’s worth the long journey to Doral. We will also discuss the latest Mediterranean spot to open in Miami, Mazeh. We have also started our Miami Spice menu previews, so we will chat about what we like so far.

Oh, and we’ll give an update our latest bracket: The internet’s favorite burger in Miami.

Miami.com editor Amy Reyes and the Miami Herald’s James Beard winner, Carlos Frías, will get into it all. Have your own questions? Email us and we’ll talk about it on the show.

Tune in Thursdays at 11 a.m. to watch La Ventanita live on YouTube and the Miami Herald website. Find every episode of La Ventanita podcast at the show page and on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Megaphone, Stitcher and MiamiHerald.com.
