The internet has spoken: This is the restaurant that makes Miami’s favorite croquetas

Let’s be real. Croquetas > turkey.
Let’s be real. Croquetas > turkey. Miami

The internet has spoken: Miami, you like CAO Bakery’s croquetas. You really, really like them!

In our inaugural poll to find the best croquetas in Miami, CAO Bakery received the most internet votes, week to week. This week, we crown CAO’s croquetas champion of the internet!

CAO Bakery knows croquetas. The franchise was founded by Tony Cao, the grandson of Vicky Bakery founder Antonio Cao. He bought out his stores from his family and turned them into more Cuban-American bakeries, adding Miami flavors and heartier sandwiches.

The CAO franchise is spreading north to Broward County and beyond, hoping to become the “Latin Starbucks,” Tony Cao said.

Cao Bakery & Cafe takes the original Vicky Bakery and adds breakfast and lunch items, such as a Medio Dia sandwich, fritas and other heartier dishes.

Apparently, they also know the secret to a croqueta the internet loves. In the face off against a tiny Coral Gables eatery called Well Fed that fought till the end to stay in the game, CAO took home 63 percent of the votes (10,682) against Well Fed’s 6,285.

Thanks for submitting your favorite croqueta makers and voting in our totally unscientific poll just for fun, week to week. Congrats to CAO Bakery!
