Flaming cheese and white truffle cocktails: Miami Lakes gets a new upscale restaurant
Since it opened in Aventura in 2019, Reunion Ktchn Bar has drawn diners with a sophisticated menu and creative craft cocktails.
Now, the team that made it a popular spot for locals has opened a restaurant in Miami Lakes.
Korner 67 — from the husband-and-wife team Cesar Olivo and Adriana Perez Benatar, plus brother-in-law Samuel Perez Benatar — aims to bring a Reunion Ktchn vibe to Main Street (with equally comical spelling). The 2,500-square-foot restaurant, which offers indoor and outdoor seating, features a tapas-heavy menu and a variety of craft cocktails..
“The secret to our success in Aventura has been our loyal local following,” Olivo said in a statement. “Especially during 2020, our regulars became like a family, and without them we wouldn’t be there today. . . . we saw an opportunity to bring something exciting and new to a community that we felt would appreciate it.”
Chef Adriana Cisneros’ menu will include some Reunion Ktchn favorites, such as Flaming Greek Saganaki Cheese, escargot and Coquille St. Jacques. There are also Italian dishes like the classic Bolognese and seafood risotto, though you had us at “flaming cheese.”
New menu items include basil pesto shrimp tagliatelle, zucchini carpaccio and bacalhau Portuguese stew.
Upscale cocktails are also big at Korner 67. Try a Shishito Mule (vodka, shishito cordial, Montenegro, ginger and lime) or a Guav-A-Lady (vodka, elderflower liqueur, guava cordial, mint and lemon). A white truffle old fashioned adds white truffle honey and chocolate bitters. There are also plenty of mocktails for the nondrinkers.
