Octopus tacos, anyone? Mexican food truck opens its first real restaurant in Miami
The first rule of life is this: You can never have too many tacos.
This is good news for La Santa Taqueria, which has opened its first brick and mortar restaurant in the Little River neighborhood.
Starting out its life as a food truck in the Midtown Garden Center, La Santa Taqueria gradually added trucks you could find all over Miami at hot spots like The Wharf on the Miami River, Proyecto Tulum in Wynwood and BaseCamp in Little Haiti.
Now, it’s putting down roots in Little River.
“We want to bring elegant, unique elements from our culture, not all of the classic things people know from Mexico like sombreros, papel picaro,” said Chef Omar Montero in a press release. “The traditional way is what I’m looking to show to the people.”
What will the people find at La Santa. All the best kinds of tacos: al pastor, bistec y queso, carnitas, baja shrimp and tacos de pulpo. You can also find elotes, quesadillas and guacamole as well as vegetarian and vegan choices. Take advantage of a $8.99 lunch special from noon until 3 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday.
You can’t eat inside just yet or sit at the bar, due to Miami-Dade COVID-19 restrictions, but there is outdoor seating and takeout is available.
