What is Staten Island pizza? Find out at this new Miami Beach takeout/delivery spot
Say what you will about New York, but the place knows pizza. And now there’s a new spot to indulge in that crispy, thin crust goodness in Miami Beach.
At a time when Miami-Dade restaurants are reopening as coronavirus quarantine restrictions have been lifted, Frankie NoNo’s arrives straight out of Staten Island, along with its executive chef Frankie Fratto. He was raised on Staten Island and learned to make bread, homemade pizza sauce and Italian desserts. Later he worked the kitchen at the famous Joe and Pat’s Pizzeria in Staten Island.
Now, he’s bringing New York and Calabrese-style pizza to South Beach, where you can buy it by the slice or whole pie for delivery and take out.
“Inspired by my hometown and the famed pizzerias in Staten Island, I knew I had to bring a chef down to South Beach, and Chef Frankie was a perfect fit to showcase a true pizzeria experience featuring the freshest ingredients, pies and slices in town,” said the restaurant’s owner Michael Liebowitz in a press release.
Pie options include plain, vodka, margherita, pesto, arugula, and buffalo chicken with any of your favorite toppings. There are sandwiches on the menu as well as garlic knots.
The takeout and delivery begins June 1. The restaurant plans to open a full dining room soon.
