This poke restaurant is planning to open in Brickell despite the coronavirus pandemic

Many Miami restaurants have closed for the coronavirus pandemic - but there’s one new spot coming soon to the Brickell neighborhood.

Straight out of Central Florida, Kona Poké is arriving as the brand’s first delivery-only restaurant (the other spots in Sanford and Lake Mary are regular sit-down restaurants)

Henry Moso, a recent James Beard nominee for Rising Star Chef of the Year, created the restaurant’s signature bowls and sauces. Expect sushi-grade fish and more than 40 toppings to choose from, with vegan, gluten-free and cooked options available.

Maybe even more important is Kona Poké’s 100 percent no-contact food prep guarantee for all curbside pickup and delivery orders. This includes screening employees before their shifts begin, routine hand sterilization, fresh gloves for each order, no contact food prep and assembly and no-contact employee sign-off.

Still, why open a restaurant at such a time?

“It’s our way to continue excelling,” explain owners Matthew Ting and Ernie Falco III in a press release. “We opened our first two locations in Central Florida in just one year, and we are excited to keep the momentum going while also adapting to the changing circumstances bringing our first delivery-only store to Brickell. We can’t wait to feed the Miami community our insanely delicious bowls and continue making many more fans statewide.”
