Stock up on pollo: Miami’s favorite fast food spot is now selling ready to cook chicken
Can’t find chicken at your local grocery store? Shut out online, too? That’s shopping life during the coronavirus pandemic.
Don’t worry. For the first time ever, Pollo Tropical is selling chicken you take home and cook yourself.
The Miami-based fast-casual restaurant is offering a pantry menu at all of its restaurants, selling marinated whole chickens and marinated chicken breasts at bargain prices.
You’ll pay $5 for a citrus marinated whole chicken; $10 for six citrus marinated breasts.
“During these challenging times, we want to give our guests easy solutions to get quality food they can trust at a great value,” said Richard Stockinger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fiesta Restaurant Group, parent company of Pollo Tropical in a press release. “Fresh, ready to cook chicken can be hard to find in grocery stores these days, so we made it easy to find at Pollo.”
You can order the chicken for takeout or at the drive through, even order ahead at www.PolloTropical.com or via the MyPollo app. And if you want sides, the Pollo Pantry is also selling its ready-to-eat white rice and black beans in larger packages for $5 each (feeds up to 10 people).
Of course, if you want to let Pollo Tropical do the cooking, you can order from the regular menu for drive-through, mobile pickup or deliver orders. There’s free delivery through April 30 for all orders placed through the website.
There are more than 140 Pollo Tropicals in Florida.
