This Spanish Michelin star chef has opened his first tapas bar in downtown Miami
A new tapas restaurant is opening in downtown Miami - but these are not just any tapas.
They’re tapas from the creative mind of Ferran Adria, considered one of the world’s pioneers in molecular gastronomy, which examines the chemical and physical transformation of ingredients once they’re cooked.
Adria and the restaurant group Grup Iglesias have just opened Estacion Central in downtown Miami, the Spanish chain’s first restaurant in the United States and the fifth in the world.
The menu, under the guidance of Chef Miguel Estrada, features staples of Spanish cuisine that have been reinvented Adria-style: paella with monkfish, prawns and squid cuttlefish; Galician-style octopus and roast suckling pig with green apple puree. Also expect gazpacho and patatas bravas.
You’ll also find a bit of Miami flair to some dishes, such as corvine ceviche with passion fruit and mango and pineapple cocorron with Malibu Rum sous-vide.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.
Adria is famous for the Michelin 3-star restaurant El Bulli, which he created using the culinary ideas of his brother Albert Adria. El Bulli has been named one of the world’s best restaurant five times by Restaurant magazine.
