The rest of the U.S. can now eat Miami’s pastelitos, even though they don’t deserve them

Pastelitos have just gone national.

Vicky Bakery is now shipping its well-loved Cuban puff pastries nationwide, the company announced Tuesday. Its guava, cheese and guava-and-cheese pastelitos will be available to order by the dozen or two dozen.

“Our fans extend way beyond Miami, and nationwide shipping was our solution to loyal customers who don’t live close to our stores,” Pedro Cao, the son of the founder and board member of Vicky Enterprises, wrote in a press release.

However, hot, fresh pastelitos will require teamwork between Vicky and pastelito fiends. The pastries will be shipped in dry ice within 48 hours of ordering with instructions for how to bake them at home.

Prices start at $20, not including shipping costs, which start at $10 and go way up (over $50), depending on where in the contiguous 48 U.S. states they are shipped. The pastelitos can be ordered online at VickyBakery.com.

Vicky has been looking for ways to expand in the past several years, from offering vegan Cuban bread in stores, to expanding beyond South Florida.
