You can never have too much seafood. This new South Beach Portuguese spot proves it

Though Mediterranean restaurants are popping up all over Miami and Miami Beach, specific Portuguese cuisine is less represented on South Beach.

That all changes now, with the arrival of Seasins.

The seafood restaurant opened recently South of Fifth, the creation of Head Chef Arley Figueroa and his team. Their aim? To create a menu that celebrates the traditional as well as the unique.

The restaurant stresses two important factors near and dear to your palate: seafood and Portuguese wine. One of the specialties is Bacalhau a Bras, made with salted cod, onions and thinly chopped fried potatoes scrambled with eggs. There’s also the Cataplana, a seafood medley, as well as shellfish dishes and shrimp.

But Seasins is not about to deprive meat lovers of their favorites. The Bife a Portuguesa is beef tenderloin pan roasted with garlic and served with fries, tomatoes, prosciutto and a fried egg. In addition to a cheese plate, there’s a black pork ham platter.

Seasins is open for dinner and lunch. Lunch diners have the option of ordering from the more casual Executive Menu, available Monday through Friday. The A La Carte menu features more traditional fare.
