This Sunny Isles cafe welcomes gluten-free diners, but has something for everyone
Veg heads and paleos can can find something to enjoy at Kuten Inclusive Kitchen. Kuten means “all-inclusive” in Finnish and the white on white café comes with a Beatles soundtrack. The owner loves the Fab Four and while not a hipster joint (yet) it attracts a lot of Russians and Bulgarians from Sunny Isles. They sit at tables outside and feed croissants to their dogs. Nutritionist and founder Alicia Di Mauro is the chef and runs the cheerful place with her husband Jorge Marrelli. They are from Buenos Aries where Alicia often felt excluded from meals due to her gluten intolerance. Chef Rafael Velasquez worked at Michelin-starred Mugaritz in Spain.

Get a carrot-celery-beet juice or an iced mocha frappe. Breakfast is all day with eggs any way with bacon, toast and potato hash made with pan-fried cubes of potato, sweet potato and boniato (white yam). Parmesan flan brings egg custard with spinach and tomato jam. Satisfy a sweet tooth with brioche French toast infused with nutmeg and vanilla topped with berries, coconut crème and cashews drizzled in chocolate balsamic. Or go with a poached apple with Greek yogurt and gluten free granola. There’s also multigrain toast with mashed avocado and burrata or dill cream cheese with smoked salmon.

Try flank steak churrasco with salsa and ginger infused rice. It is plated with provoleta cheese chips and chimichurri for a modern take on an Argentine classic. Gluten free gnocchi is made from a blend of yuca and rice flours stuffed with mozzarella or spinach in white truffle cream or puttanesca sauce. Creamed rice with roasted oyster mushrooms is finished with chile oil and arugula with puffed rice adding crunch.
Sandwiches can be split. Get the grilled chicken BLT on a baguette or gluten free bread with gruyere and herbed tomato. The house burger is a blend of prime rib and chuck topped with melted gruyere, pickles and tomato jam on a brioche or gluten free bun.
The veggie burger is a patty made from quinoa and pureed beets and lentils seasoned with cumin topped with Swiss and garlic-lime soy mayo. You’ll be wishing there were eight days a week to come together here.
Save room For Dessert
It doesn’t get more Argentine than the dulce de leche mousse on a gluten free sable cookie with a swoosh of caramel and merengue puff. Or get a top hat-shaped canele enclosing soft orange and rum infused custard.
