South Beach is getting a ‘health conscious twist’ on Cuban favorites at this new cafe

Opening at the newly renovated Flamingo Point Center in January, 2020 is Bebito’s, a Cuban-American cafe and bistro by Jason Odio, the restaurateur behind hot spots Baby Jane and La Otra.

“The concept of Bebito’s pays homage to my family and heritage,” said Odio, who named the café after his grandfather. “We aim to showcase our take on Cuban-American favorites with a modern, health conscious twist that speaks to a new generation.”

Chef Henry Hane, alum of Eating House and Bachour Bakery, will run the kitchen along with Hedy Goldsmith protégé, pastry chef Dallas Wynne. On the menu: Chorizo Manchego Croquetas; Baked Egg with spinach, artichoke and cheese; Bebito’s Burger; Guava Miso Salmon Grain Bowl; Dallas’ Special Dulce de Leche Cookies; and a variety of Tostadas -- Bebito’s version of a tartine with a Cuban twist. A wine list will also be available and comprised of organic and biodynamic selections.

But about the coffee.

Bebito’s Private Label signature blend is roasted locally in Miami featuring a potent mix of Brazilian, Colombian and Ecuadorian beans. The brew will be offered in all traditional forms including a signature cafecito, traditional café con leche and many more variations.

The 100-seat space will also have free Wi-Fi throughout and counter seating will have outlets for easy access to those looking for an ‘office’ other than Starbucks for a change.

Details: Bebito’s, 1504 Bay Road #106, Miami Beach
