Dine out, save & do good this month

  • Area 31 joins the Gulf relief efforts this week with the launch of its “We Cook While They Clean” fundraiser. $1 from every oyster primi dish will be donated to the Gulf Relief Foundation. The dish features six chilled Island Creek Oysters from Massachusetts and Area 31 mignonette sauce. For info and reservations call 305-424-5234.
  • Swap mangoes for meals at Chef Allen’s. Bring a wheelbarrow full of mangoes to the Aventura restaurant and enjoy dinner for two. Call 305-935-2900 for details.
  • Beat the summer heat with new drinks & light bites at 660 at the Angler’s. Chef Giogrio Rapicavoli is wooing locals and visitors with dishes like Andalusian gazpacho, shrimp ceviche and pizza provencal. The menu is available 12-5pm daily and from 5pm-12am on Monday and Tuesday. Call 305-534-9600 for info & reservations
  • The Fontainebleau is wooing foodies with a trio of $54 prix-fixe menus at Gotham, Hakkasan & Scarpetta. Each restaurant is changing its menu weekly, with such highlights as Maine lobster bisque, yellowfin tuna tartare & shrimp and summer corn risotto (Gotham); smoked ribs salad, dim sum platter & black pepper ribeye (Hakkasan); and Mediterranean branzino, east coast monk fish and spice roasted chicken (Scarpetta).
