David Grutman and Pharrell Williams team up to open Miami restaurant and bar

Pharrell Williams is really spreading his wings.

So much so, that he has partnered with David Grutman in opening Swan and Bevy Bar, a new restaurant and cocktail lounge slated to debut in the fall in the former Fendi Casa space at 90 NE 39th Street under Grutman’s brand new Groot Hospitality company.

Chef Jean Imbert’s menu will focus on what they’re calling “clean eating,” and they claim they will know the origin of each ingredient used in their dishes.  The dining room and outside garden, they say, will be the “ultimate Instagrammable setting.”

The pair have been working on Swan for the past two years. Grutman is already an established restaurant businessman with Komodo, OTL, and Planta. But Williams is a newbie who jumped into the biz with Williams Family Kitchen, a product line inspired by his father’s cooking.

While Swan will serve food downstairs (what kind, Grutman won’t yet reveal, but it’s not soul food), Bar Bevy upstairs is “cocktail focused,” he told us.

“I’m excited about Swan and Bar Bevy and the amazing chef who will be joining us,” Grutman says. We asked who that chef was, but he said he couldn’t reveal it just yet.

This story has been updated to reflect the new chef and design.
