The Best St. Patrick’s Day events

St. Patrick’s Day is almost upon us.

This fact alone gives you (and everyone else in the city) license to drink copious amounts of suds, brews, brewskis, pints, pilsners, lagers, ales and, well, beer all day long. To that end, we’ve lined up the most classic Irish alehouses (and not-so-classic Irish alehouses) in the city and their green day festivities.

Duffy’s is hosting its annual St.Patrick’s Day bash March 15-17. “Feast like an Irishman” on corned beef & cabbage or a Reuben burger. Wash it all down with 2-for-1 green beers in take-home “Shake Your Shamrocks!” cup. Various locations, get info at

After four years of hosting this party in Miami, it’s safe to say that Fadó Irish Pub is the leading expert on all things Irish. Fadó has planned a whole week of events leading to “St. Practice Day” on Sunday the 15, before the real deal goes down on Tuesday the 17. 900 S. Miami Ave, Brickell, 786-924-0972.

  • Fadó’s “practice run” features $5 admission to enter the plaza includes two banging DJ stages, full bars, multiple beer gardens and a party on the plaza.With the purchase of a “Sunday Funday VIP Party Pass”, people can celebrate from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. with $2 Bud, Bud light, Naked Turtle Rum, Bushmill’s Irish Whiskey and Smirnoff.
  • On Tuesday March 17, Fadó will open its doors early at 9:00 a.m. with a full brunch menu available until 11:00 a.m. with bottomless mimosas and sangrias! Then, get ready for an Irish party Miami style starting at 2:00 p.m. at their St. Paddy’s Day Block Party. There will be two massive DJ stages in the courtyards of Mary Brickell Village, multiple beer gardens, full bars and Irish dancers. 

JohnMartin Irish Pub & Restaurant gets in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day starting on Thursday March 12 with Irish Trivia night and continues with live music on Saturday night. Smashburger is smashing the celebration by bringing back a Limited Edition Mint Oreo® Shake! Made with premium Vanilla Häagen-Dazs® ice cream, crushed Oreo® cookies, and Mint Syrup. Shelborne Wyndham Grand is  offering Irish fare poolside at Oasis including Corned Beef on Rye, made with homemade sauerkraut, or a Peppered Turkey Rachel. Inside at the newly opened Petite Bistro, patrons can also enjoy a traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage dish. Drawing Room Bar & Lounge will offer guests all three dishes and delicious Irish beers and cocktail specials, such as the classic Guinness and Boddington, and Jameson Whisky. On Tuesday, March 17, Radio Bar is offering $5 Jameson Punch Cocktails and $5 Jameson Shots all night. Participating Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurant locations in Florida will celebrate the luck of the Irish with food and drink specials like the “Corned Beef Reuben” – a deli classic with thin-sliced corned beef brisket piled high and topped with sauerkraut and Russian dressing between slices of melted Swiss cheese on rye with pickles.
