Tom Colicchio loves Miami

Tom Colicchio, the New York-based chef, restaurateur and Top Chef head judge, is making Miami a major part of his career in the new year. 

On Jan. 21, Bravo TV will air the premiere episode of Best New Restaurant, a Colicchio-hosted show featuring five Miami-Dade restaurants: R House, Tongue & Cheek, The Federal, Buns & Buns and Dolce. 

Also in early 2015, Colicchio will open and oversee four new food-and-beverage spots in the new 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach (2377 Collins Ave.), the names of which Miami.com learned today (even though Colicchio leaked one on social media several weeks ago): 

Beachcraft: A “Mediterranean-inspired menu will showcase South Florida’s farms and fishermen in a stylish, seaside setting.”

Sandbox: Poolside restaurant.

Sand Bar: Poolside bar.

Tom on Collins: Lobby bar.
