West Coast Mexican hot spot The Taco Stand opening soon in Wynwood
West Coast fave The Taco Stand is opening its fourth location in Wynwood.
The 1,700-square-foot restaurant, to open at 313 NW 25th St. in November, will have 45 seats and will serve Baja-inspired fare.
“As we planned on rolling out The Taco Stand on the East Coast, we knew Miami was the perfect location,” co-owner Julian Hakim says. “Specifically, Wynwood felt like a natural fit for the brand and our audience as it provides the energy and atmosphere we’ve become known for.”
Hakim and his partner Aram Baloyan were influenced by their upbringing in Tijuana. There are Taco Stand locations in San Diego, La Jolla and Encinitas.
The menu includes Carne Asada tacos ($3.29), Al Pastor Burritos ($6.99) and Pollo Quesadilla ($7.79). Also available: the Sonora Taco ($4.29), the California Burrito ($7.89) and the Mar y Tierra Fries ($9.49). The latter features grilled shrimp and grilled steak, fries, guacamole, sour cream and cheese.
Desserts include locally-made all-natural Paletas and hot Churros. The Taco Stand will also serve imported beers and Mexican sodas.
And because they’re coming to Wynwood, the partners hired Cuban artist Rigo Leon to paint a mural inside the restaurant. A large open kitchen and fast-order counter offers a view of tortilla production and a traditional vertical spit for roasting pork.
The Taco Stand will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.. On Fridays and Saturdays, it’s open from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m.
