The List: Michael Mina's Miami restaurant picks
San Francisco-based chef-restaurateur Michael Mina is set to open his third South Florida restaurant, Stripsteak, next month in the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Here’s where he eats when he’s in town:
1. Scarpetta
The Duck and Foie Gras Ravioli is outstanding.
4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-674-4660.
2. Hiro’s Yakko-san
Angel Hair Uni with Ikura. We’ve been going there since we opened Bourbon Steak in Aventura.
3881 NE 163rd St., North Miami Beach; 305-947-0064.
3. Cypress Room
I’m a fan of Michael Schwartz. The Agnolotti is delicious.
3620 NE Second Ave., Miami; 305-520-5197.
4. Lucali
The Pizza is great, but the Calzone is out of this world.
1930 Bay Rd., Miami Beach; 305-695-4441.
5. Joe’s Stone Crab
Classic. Get the Stone Crabs, of course!
11 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; 305-673-0365.
6. Bazaar
A great spot to see and be seen! I love ordering a bunch of new-school and old-school tapas.
1701 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-455-2999
7. Pubbelly
These guys are unstoppable, and it’s so cool to see how they’ve grown over the years.
1418 20th St., Miami Beach; 305-532-7555.
8. Broken Shaker
Handcrafted cocktails, coupled with fun bar bites: A slam dunk.
2727 Indian Creek Dr., Miami Beach; 305-531-2727.
9. Juvia
You can’t beat the view. My favorite dish is the Cold Smoked Scallop.
1111 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach; 305-763-8272.
10. Ball & Chain
Sit down for a classic Mojito and an order of Chicharrónes.
1513 SW Eighth St., Miami; 305-643-7820.
