Chef Katsuya Uechi hosts pop-up dinner at the SLS South Beach
When celeb chefs open shop down here, we rarely get face time with the masters, so it’s a treat when the talent comes to town. Fans of sushi chef Katsuya Uechi and his sceney Japanese spot at the SLS South Beach will be pleased to know that the chef will be hosting dinner for a special one-night-only pop-up at his eponymous restaurant this Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 7 to 10:30 p.m.
The five-course family-style dinner prepared by chef Katsuya and his talented culinary team is $75 a person plus tax and tip. Reservations can be made through OpenTable.
The menu:
Amuse bouche
First course: Edamame gyoza, house-smoked red salmon.
Second course: Kampachi onion ponzu, vegetables kakiage
Third course: Miso sea bass, kurobota pork
Fourth course: Sushi and sashimi from the Tsukiji fish market
Fifth course: Katsuya dessert sampler
