Curtain rises for new restaurant at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts has a new on-site restaurant: Marti’s New American Bistro opens this weekend with its inaugural brunch service on Sunday.

Marti’s offers a three-course, prix-fixe menu before shows for theater-goers. The restaurant also is open to those without show tickets: An a la carte menu is available after 8 p.m. on show nights and on Fridays and Saturdays when there is no performance. Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Look for dinner items like Florida fish with mango and papaya salsa; chicken à l’orange; Moroccan lamb tagine; and honey-lavender ice cream.

Marti’s is located on the first floor of the Broward Center (201 SW Fifth Ave.) in Fort Lauderdale. For reservations and more information, call 954-522-5334.

In Miami-Dade, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts lost its prix-fixe on-site restaurant in June, when Prelude by Barton G closed. A 100-seat Books & Books Cafe is expected to open on the Arsht Center campus in downtown Miami by the end of the year.
