The Katz’s Deli pastrami pizza is such a hit he’s coming to learn to make it
Katz’s Delicatessen may know how to make a mean pastrami on rye, but now its owner wants to learn how to make pastrami on pizza.
Just a few weeks ago we told you about Miami chef Michael Schwartz’s collab with famed New York City deli Katz’s and the Katz’s pastrami pizza on rye crust that Schwartz came up with at his Harry’s Pizzeria. The only-in-Miami pizza was such a hit at the Coconut Grove location that Schwarz had to order 150 more pounds of Katz pastrami and is serving it at all three of his Harry’s locations through July 23.
Katz owner Jake Dell is flying down for one day to learn how to make the pizza himself. Katz & Schwartz, not a law firm, will be throwing the dough from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 18 at the Harry’s in the Design District (3918 N. Miami Ave., Miami).
“It’s outselling our cheese pie,” said Schwartz spokesperson Jackie Sayet.
