These brownies from a Univision star have Miami buzzing
You know what doesn’t go well with brownies? Nothing. Nothing doesn’t go well with brownies.
That’s especially true, apparently, for the brownies made by television personality Roger Borges, a one-time Univision star, who was the unfortunate casualty of massive layoffs at the network in November. Lucky for him, his side hustle making brownies from imported French chocolate has inspired several Miami chefs to collaborate with his Oh Chocolat! on desserts popping up around town.
This weekend, the Kendall restaurant Dr. Limon, a spot beloved by local Peruvians, is pairing his brownie with chef Carlos Brescia’s lucuma ice cream. Earlier this week, fellow Kendall restaurant Finka put his brownies, drizzled with a cream cheese sauce, Nutella and chocolate shavings on their menu.
The dessert ($7) will be available through the Memorial Day weekend. Borges’ brownies don’t have their own storefront but can be ordered at 305-542-8190.
