Whiskey lovers have a new hangout on Miami Beach
The bar
Miami Beach finally has a straight-up, no-fuss whiskey bar and it’s called Commonwealth. Dark, cozy and lined with intimate leather booths, Commonwealth has a way of making visitors feel like they’re in Chicago rather than Miami Beach, and it features a food menu as gourmet and satisfying as its signature cocktails.
The deal
Something to sip
The Irish Clover is a fruity and citrusy blend of Paddy’s Irish Whiskey, Dolin Blanc, blackberry shrub, fresh lemon and egg white – just the right blend of strong, smooth, sour and sweet.
Other sips
If your a fan of all things light and airy, opt for the Strawberry Fields, made with Dickel No.8, strawberry balsamic reduction, and orange. For something lighter with a taste of herb, the Lemon Verbena Mule combines Ketel One vodka shaken with Lemon Verbena, fresh lime, and ginger, topped with soda and a fresh lavender sprig.
Something to savor
Order the Burrata with Butternut Squash puree, served with slow roasted acorn squash, pink lady apple, white frisse, truffle dressing and topped with a Ciabatta crouton. Then move on to a 12 ounce bone-in pork chop with white bean puree and roasted brussel sprouts. Make sure to enjoy it with a side of Duck Fat Fries, served with garlic aioli.
