Salty Donut opens brick-and-mortar shop in Wynwood
You’ve been eating donuts out of the back of a trailer for long enough.
Wynwood’s Salty Donut gourmet doughnut shop, which started as a weekend pop up, will finally open its permanent location in the new Wynwood Arcade on Saturday, its first anniversary.
The new shop will be open six days a week, staying open until 6 p.m. or until it sells out — which happens regularly. Lines for the pop up have been down the block on weekends, even when it moved into a temporary brick-and-mortar location several feet from its permanent home.
The shop has garnered even national recognition, after its chef co-owner Max Santiago won a baking competition on the Cooking Channel’s “Sugar Showdown.”
