Tickets just went on sale for Oldchella—er, The Desert Trip, the latest music festival announced for October 7,8,9, 14, 15, and 16 at the Empire Polo Club in Indo, California. While the headliners are impressive: Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Roger Waters, The Who, The Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney, so is the food lineup. After all, this ‘fest caters to a more, er, mature palate, and as such, the weekends will feature some heavy hitters cooking at various ‘culinary experiences’ throughout the festival. Representing Miami is Jamie DeRosa of Izzy’s Fish and Oyster, who will be joining Marcus Samuelsson, Daniel Humm, Curtis Stone, Michael Mina, Michael Voltaggio, Ludo Lefebvre, Scott Conant, Dean Ferring, Marcel Vigneron, Jason Neroi, Duff Goldman, Kristen Kish, Ilan Hall and more.
There will be wine tastings, food and cocktail “experiences” and swanky dinners such as the one DeRosa will be participating in–the four-course Outstanding in the Field dinner.
The goal for this festival was to have food and music on the same levels,” DeRosa told us. “ Chefs like Tom Colicchio, Conant, Stone, Samuelson cooking in the desert, before each show begins each night with the Outstanding in the Field long dinner table of 250 people eating four courses, carefully selected wines and local craft beers, lend itself to a once and a lifetime experience.”
