Is pig passé? Perhaps, perhaps not. But Food for Thought has the low down on Chef Jeremiah of gastroPod fame’s forthcoming, foie-studded food fete, Duck Duck Goose (DDG), the alternative to PIG (Pork is Good), which has had a six year run, taking place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday June 4 at the newly expanded gastroPod lot, 168 NW 26th St. in Wynwood.
“PIG has more of a rock ‘n’ roll and whiskey vibe,” Jeremiah told Food for Thought, “But Duck Duck Goose is going to be a lot more champagne and bossa nova. We look forward to fattening your livers!”

For its inaugural run, DDG is bringing a stellar lineup of South Florida’s most inventive purveyors of haute cuisine, gourmet street food and craft cocktails. Expect some familiar faces from PIG and new additions, plus lots of live fire cooking over embers with poultry on strings. DJ Le Spam will spin a stellar soundtrack that will hopefully include Rick Dees’, er, honker, Disco Duck.
Among this year’s participating chefs: Brad Kilgore, Alter Chef Jeremiah, gastroPod Will Crandall, Izzy’s James Strine, Cafe Boulud WPB Patrick Rebholz, Quality Meats Cake, Cake Thai Gabriel Ask, Faena Hotel Aaron Brooks, Four Seasons Miami Steve Santana, Taquiza Brian Mullins, Ms. Cheezious Babe Froman, Fine Sausages John Lermayer, Mixologist at Sweet Liberty.
Tickets are $59 and available here.
