Danny Serfer can check “host dinner party with Luther Campbell” off his bucket list when his dream comes true at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 11 at Mignonette, when the 2 Live Crew-man assumes hosting duties at a five-course dinner, soundtrack provided by Sweat Records owner Lolo Reskin. The $90 per person (including gratuity, not beverages), 35 seat dinner includes a menu created with input by Campbell, including conch fritters, olive oil poached halibut and a “Tootsie Roll” for dessert. Each ticket includes a signed copy of his new book, The Book of Luke: My Fight for Truth, Justice and Liberty City (Amistad). I“I celebrate Uncle Luke’s entire catalogue from As Nasty As They Wanna Be to I Got Shit on My Mind, plus I am a die hard Hurricanes fan, Serfer says. “Mignonette is excited to celebrate Uncle Luke, the godfather of explicit rap and the reason albums come with explicit content stickers today.” Now that’s f’n fancy.
Welcome cocktail and passed snacks will begin at 7:30pm; dinner starts promptly at 8 p.m.. Tickets must be purchased in advance through www.mignonetteXuncleluke.brownpapertickets.com.
