New restaurant openings: Dirt, Beaker & Gray, 33 Kitchen
Three new restaurants can hang a “Now Open” sign on their front doors:
• Dirt has opened at 232 Fifth St. in Miami Beach, serving an all-day menu of vegetable-focused items. Breakfast brings local eggs with Zak the Baker multigrain toast and truffled oatmeal with English peas and parm. A lunchtime seasonal bowl is filled with butternut squash, cashew “cream,” curry cauliflower, quinoa and arugula. Smoothies, juices, coffees, beers and JoJo teas are on the beverage list. Chef Nicole Votano and chef-founder Jonathan Seningen collaborate on daily specials and seasonal menu changes. Dirt is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; dirteatclean.com.
• Beaker and Gray is open at 2637 N. Miami Ave. in Wynwood on a preview basis through Dec. 6 to catch the Art Basel crowds. A full opening will follow later this month. Chef-owner Brian Nasajon and bar manager-owner Ben Potts are turning out plates like savory churros with shrimp, chorizo and ginger, and beets with yogurt, pistachio and Key lime, as well as drinks like the Greenhouse, a blend of Botanist gin, green chartreuse, basil, celery and soda. Beaker & Gray is open this week from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. Dec. 1-2 and noon to 3 a.m. Dec. 3-6; 305-699-2637, beakerandgray.com.
