Whether you think EDM is dead or very much alive, one thing’s certain: chocolate cake will never die. Just ask 24-year-old Norwegian DJ hot shot Kygo, who, in celebration of the release of his anticipated album Cloud Nine, has collaborated with nightlife and hospitality honcho David Grutman to create a one-of-a-kind dessert, the “Cloud Nine” chocolate cake, available at his Brickell hot spot Komodo.
Kygo’s creation is a mashup of triple chocolate cake with double chocolate mousse, topped with a spiced milk chocolate cremoux, garnished wit shichimi spiced caramel popcorn and a chocolate cigar. Adding a little Miami flavor, the dessert comes topped with a mango passion fruit sauce, with a refreshing quenelle of mango passion fruit sorbet on the side, along with chocolate pearls and chocolate cubes.

We asked Grutman if he has future plans to create baked goods with other DJs and assorted musical talent and he said, “No other DJs, but we just feel Kygo’s music fits so well with our Komodo brand and we were so happy to partner with him.”
Oh well, guess you’ll have to just imagine what Skrillex’s Bangarang Banana Bread Pudding would taste like.
