A cult-favorite bar is hopping into Miami Beach just in time for Art Basel and the holidays.

The Dead Rabbit, an Irish bar named the best bar in the world in 2016 by World’s Best 50 Bars list, is popping up at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach for a month.

World famous for its Irish coffee (there’s also an Irish coffee martini), serving the best Guinness in New York and an impressive Irish whiskey selection, The Dead Rabbit plans to serve cocktail favorites at the pop-up. But it will feature a few only-in-South Beach drinks, too.

“We have always looked to redefine the Irish Bar experience, constantly asking ourselves how to elevate and evolve to create a memorable and hospitable experience for our guests,” said director Jillian Vose, who will work with the Ritz-Carlton’s head bartender Enzo Cangemi on creating the pop-up’s menu. “Having the opportunity to showcase this through our residency at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach is a perfect testament to our commitment.”

Vose also plans to host two 90-minute cocktail-making classes on Dec. 4 and 11.

As for the pub’s unnerving rabbit mascot? He has a back story: According to the pub’s website, he was modeled after John Morrissey, a real-life leader of a mid-19th century Irish-American street gang, The Dead Rabbits. Should be good practice for handling the Art Basel crowds.

The Dead Rabbit specializes in whiskey drinks, and so will the Ritz-Carlton South Beach pop-up, but other cocktails will be available, too.
