Remember Jazid? The legendary Miami Beach nightclub is back but you won’t recognize it

The renovation is complete. Jazid is back.

The iconic live music club on Washington Avenue, which hosted performers such as Prince, Shakira, Metallica, Ricky Martin and Billy Corgan, is opening its doors this month with a brand new look - and more music.

The original club closed in 2017 after more than two decades, when owner Daniel Wohlstein told Miami.com that he was “tired” and that “the City of Miami Beach has killed the nightlife of South Beach. The parking increases, the police, the rules – people stop coming to the beach.”

New owner and creative director Arnaud Nicolas is more optimistic. He says he wanted to consider the club’s roots when redesigning the space and to preserve its musical history (so expect live music and special DJ sets).

The downstairs bar is an explosion of baroque, Renaissance and ’70s style, a veritable Garden of Eden, with gold mirrors, marble bars and cherry blossom flowers that hints of decadence.

Upstairs, the Social Club is accented with crystal chandeliers and teal leather couches so you can be stylish and comfy while you order bottle service. Also, you will be thrilled to learn dancing on the couches and the tables is encouraged but not required. Both floors are available for private parties and events.

“I wanted to create a place where guests can have the time of their lives,” said Nicolas, a hospitality developer, in a press release.

There will be a bar bites menu with items such as sliders served until 1 a.m. You’ll need something to go with all that champagne.
