The story: Southern Italy’s most overlooked city, Bari, gets a shout out from Scarpetta’s bar team in the form of this thirst-quencher. Created by bartender Fernanda Neves, it’s a delightfully spicy and refreshing twist on a margarita in which chunks of watermelon are muddled with basil, cilantro and a slice of a fiery jalapeno, spiked with fresh lime juice and agave syrup, and then shaken and double strained over crushed ice. The perfect pairing? Mediterranean octopus and a heaping plate of house-made pasta.
